Behaviour management

At Gindie State School we believe that every child has the right to education. Gindie State School is committed to providing a safe, respectful and disciplined learning environment for students and staff, where students have opportunities to engage in quality learning experiences and acquire values supportive of their lifelong wellbeing.

Gindie State School's Responsible behaviour plan for students is designed to facilitate high standards of behaviour so that the learning and teaching in our school can be effective and students can participate positively within our school community.

The philosophy of a supportive school environment is embedded within our school culture. It is reflected in our code of behaviour based on a set of principles that are understood, accepted and practised by all members of our school community.

Our school community has identified the following school values to teach and promote our high standards of responsible behaviour:

  • Manners
  • Responsibility
  • Excellence
  • Safety
  • Acceptance

These core values are supported by the You Can Do It Social Skills Program focusing on the capabilities of:

  • Confidence
  • Persistence
  • Organisation
  • Getting Along
  • Emotional Resilience

For playground issues, we teach the High 5 Dealing with Bullying Program focusing on the strategies of:

  • Ignore
  • Talk Friendly
  • Talk Firmly
  • Walk Away
  • Report

Additional information about our school values is included in the Mission and values section of our website.
